  • Where are you based?
We are currently offering in-clinic appointments in Springwood!
  • Do you offer mobile play therapy?
Yes. We are currently servicing the South-Brisbane, Logan and Scenic Rim areas to Jimboomba. Travel fees are dependent on location and this can be discussed during intake. We are able to conduct Humanistic Play Therapy at your child's day-care, school or at home if suitable. Suitability is dependent on access to a private and confidential room.
  • I'm interested in support for my family. What next?
You can submit your interest through the link on the Contact page! From there, we will get in touch with you to organise an initial intake meeting. This meeting can occur in person or via teams and will take approx. 60 mins to 1.5 hours and will involve only the caregivers. It's important that your child is not present as there may be sensitive topics that need to be discussed about your child for the purpose of supporting your child. From here, we can talk more about what play therapy is, the process, any concerns you have and your hopes for your family.
  • How many sessions will my child need?
We recognize that each child's therapeutic journey is unique and as such, will be tailored to their individual needs. As a general guide, it is recommended that your child will meet weekly with their therapist for up to 45 minutes for a minimum of 10-12 sessions as a starting point. Research suggests the average could take up to 20 sessions to resolve problems of a typical child referred for treatment.
  • How am I involved in the process? Do I have to be in the room?
We recognise that often the relationship between a child's problems and family can be interwoven. Children may develop problems to signal family issues or family distress may result from the child's problems being disruptive. Healing is most effective when children and families can do it together. Throughout your child's therapeutic journey, your child's therapist will seek to have regular meetings with you to discuss your child's progress and any feedback. This generally occurs every 5-6 sessions. We want your child to feel comfortable to express themselves and treat your child as an individual who deserves privacy and confidentiality the same way as any psychologist/counsellor would and therefore do not require you to be in the room.
  • Who do you accept referrals from?
We accept referrals from anyone! Our qualified play therapists work alongside a wide variety of clients including private-paying, NDIS clients, child protection and foster families. We are able to accept referrals from community, allied health, GP's and accept self-referrals.
  • Who can it help?
